Winnipeg, Manitoba based, I,Emily Schimnowski have been creating and sewing since the young age of nine. I started out by sewing and embroidering on aprons for my grandma. Aprons were made with bleached flour sacks in those days. My grandma would wear one for gathering eggs, one for cooking and cleaning and one of my fancier embroidered ones, when she joined us at the dinner table. My first items were sewn on a treadle sewing machine. This is why, I make a variety of aprons!

Most of my aprons are based on fashion from the 50’s, when ladies wore crinolines, poodle skirts, pleats and flares. All of my flared styles come with their own sewn in crinolines! I have a beautiful embroidery machine that helps me to create very unique designs. I use high quality cottons for my creations and for the matching trims.

Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing pics posted with clients wearing my designs. No, I’m lying, my kids and my grandchildren give me the most pleasure.
