Fired Up Pottery is a husband and wife team, Ian and Lainie, who work out of their home studio. Lainie fell in love with clay as a medium during a summer pottery class at the Stoneware Gallery in 1999 and has been throwing pots of all shapes and sizes on a regular basis since 2004. Ian has been working with clay since 2017 and leans toward the expressiveness of hand building, experimenting with textures, metal oxides and an array of glaze techniques. Together, they take inspiration from nature and their imaginations. The pieces they create are both functional and decorative. Over the past several years they have participated in an array of large and small artisan shows and installations, and they regularly have their work exhibited in Winnipeg galleries.
