I grew up in rural Manitoba, as an imaginative person, starting with making my own wardrobe as a teenager. Making my own designs was my passion. Everything had to be unique and one of a kind.

I was introduced to jewelry making in my 20’s, with beading and gem wire wrapping as my initiation, but when I was introduced to a product called precious metal clay I was opened up to an unlimited number of possibilities. I love the organic and natural look I can create with this medium, using natural textures, like tree branches, bark, sand, dirt, leaves, flowers, and anything that can be found on a nature hike to create a picture or a texture. It always feels like something brand new is being created, something you won’t find anywhere else.

This medium is sculpted and molded, then dried and sanded with different grits. When I’m happy with my new creation, it goes in the kiln to be fired at a high temperature to remove all impurities.
