Stonehouse Made is a Winnipeg home-based cotton rope basket making business. I have been a maker for over 30 years in one way or another. Whether it was home decor projects, children’s costumes, gifts or Christmas crafts, I was always excited with the challenge of creating something for and by myself. As I found myself with more time, I realized I could take on a new challenge…sewing for others and making a business out of it.

I started making rope bowls and baskets 4 years ago after I came across a how-to video. I was drawn to the simplicity of the design of rope baskets and also to the potential for endless combinations of colours, sizes and shapes of the vessels. I soon started exploring the natural dyeing process and became enamoured with all the potential dyeing brings. Each piece is designed to be useful, simple and unique.
