As a new Syrian immigrant from Dubai, arriving in Canada marked a fresh start for me and my family. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the idea for Tamara Dates was born. It all began when I wanted to gift my Canadian friend something special for Christmas. Unable to find chocolate-covered dates in Manitoba, I decided to make them myself. My friend was so impressed, she thought they were store-bought and asked me to make more as gifts.

With support from my husband and son, Tamara Dates started in our home kitchen. To refine my skills, I took courses in date and chocolate making, blending traditional flavors with a modern touch. As demand grew, we secured our own commercial kitchen, allowing us to expand while maintaining the same attention to quality and detail. Recently, we welcomed a new partner, helping us professionalize and grow.

Every product from Tamara carries a message of love and inspiration. I hope to see our dates become a symbol of cultural connection on Canadian tables.
