Based in Winnipeg, MB textile artist Val Gurski started sewing at an early age tackling simple projects. Unfortunately, her first major solo project ended up on the front lawn with an “unhappy” dance performed on it. Fortunately, she persevered with her love of sewing and design which eventually lead to opening a store (T.Beach) in Grand Marais, MB designing and retailing beachwear. It wasn’t long before she broadened her designs to include home decor for everyday and Christmas, as well as unique products you didn’t realize you needed.
Val’s design philosophy is to create the best products possible
using high quality fabrics with unique prints. One of her greatest joys is hearing from customers who love and appreciate her creations. With Christmas being Val’s favourite season, she never expected the wonderful emotions experienced when customers embraced her designs as part of their family traditions.
Val doesn’t consider what she does a career, to her, creating and designing is a way of life. If you let your imagination loose, inspirations can come from the smallest detail.
